I know, ordering a custom corset can seem a bit overwhelming, but it’s worth it, I promise. Whether it’s for waist training, performance or a special occasion, having your corset custom built to your specifications will result in a more comfortable, longer wearing garment. There are three ways to get a custom corset; you can order a custom style online, you can book a virtual fitting, or you can come to the studio for an in-person fitting.
Online Orders
1. Choose Your Corset Style:
If you don't see a style that you like, and you want to put together your own creation, go through the Corset Structure Options, and build your corset from the ground up using the Custom Corset Order Form.
2. Choose Your Fabrics and Add On's:
All basic corsets are made with three layers of fabric (satin lining and two fused layers of cotton twill and satin), reinforced bone channels with steel tipped spiral steel boning, a front busk closure, and cord ties. The zipper can be substituted for the front busk with no extra charge and the cord ties can be traded out for double faced satin ribbon.
If you want something a little more individualized, choose from the list of Add On's and available Fabrics.
3. Fill out the Custom Order Form and Measurement Form:
For online orders, you will need to fill out the Custom Order Form and the measurement form using the measurement guide . Make sure your measurements are as accurate as humanly possible using a fabric measuring tape. Best to get someone to help you with this, because unless you are an expert at contortion and can actually turn your head all the way around, it’s pretty hard to keep the measuring tape straight. You need to understand that your corset pattern will be based solely off of these measurements, so if your measurements are off, your corset won’t fit as well as it could, if at all.
4. Send your Deposit:
A deposit will be required before construction begins. The deposit will range from $50-$100 depending on the final price of your custom order and will go towards your final payment (which must be received before delivery/pick up of your final order. Before you submit your deposit, you will be contacted to confirm the details of your order, including the final cost.
To Book a Fitting
To book a virtual fitting or consultation, please see the available dates for booking. All virtual appointments will take place via Zoom and you will be sent a link prior to the appointment. Virtual appointments do require a $50 deposit (which will go towards the final price of your corset) and you must provide at least 48 hours notice for cancellation to avoid losing your deposit (unless you’re on fire in which case, please stop, drop and roll first, then call to cancel). Although I will be walking you through the measuring process, you will require a measuring tape and another human to help you. It really is quite difficult to measure yourself and we want those numbers to be as accurate as possible.
To book an in-studio appointment, contact us through the site or at bettyglaore@gmail.com Like the virtual appointments, in-studio appointments will require a $50 deposit which will be deducted from the final price of your corset and also require at least 48 hours for cancellation. That being said, if you feel unwell, we will rebook for you (without the loss of your deposit). Please do not come to the studio if you’re feeling under the weather and do not bring any more than one person with you (and only if absolutely necessary). I will send you the address once we’ve confirmed your booking. If you wear yoga pants/sweats, your very favourite bra, and a tight tank top, that works the very best for fitting.
