Choosing Structure Options

Each element of a corset affects the way it feels on the body. For example, heavier boning makes for a stiffer corset which provides more support, but less flexibility. This becomes a pertinent point when you determine what you’re wearing your corset for. If you’re wearing it to create a striking shape, you might want more support (heavier boning) but if you’re wearing it for say, a performance, you would need more flexibility (lighter boning). When you’re choosing the design and components of your corsets keep in mind the reason(s) that you’re buying it. Do you want strong support? Ease of wear with greater flexibility? Crazy design features for aesthetic impact and general awesomeness?(!) Are you going to wear the corset often for waist training or are you wearing it on occasion for a specific event? Is it going over or under your clothing? There are a lot of elements to consider and it can be overwhelming. If you have questions or concerns or if you want some insight from an expert, feel free to contact us.
